I work in a state that has shut everything down except for non life sustaining businesses and in a county that has a mandatory stay at home order from the governor. Today our ASM told our pro department to call up contractors and tell them to come in for whatever deals for the week. These people are beyond mo–nic and will get us k–led.

Lowe's is only staying open for the profits I can tell you if my wife dies from being told she has to come in to work I'm going to sue Lowe's for every bit of profit they make we can't afford for her to lose her job so now they're making her choose between her life and her job
I wish I could quit. Every single day I wish I could quit. But I have a family to think about. If I quit now I will be out of money within two weeks. So I have to weigh my options: play the odds of when I will get COVID-19 versus the sure thing of running out of money in two weeks. So if I’m lucky and hopefully I will be, it will be a while before I will contract it, and it will be that many more weeks that I’ve been able to feed my family. And yes I could go find another job at another job, but right now would be exactly like the one at Lowe’s. Lowes is making an exponential amount of money off of me and they owe me my safety at the least.
When the only businesses open are Home Depot, Wal-Mart and Lowe's, that is where everyone not working will go because they have nothing to do.
Government can say a business is essential, but there should be strict guidelines preventing possibly infected shoppers from touching items, credit card machines, carts, counter tops, or worse, employees.
3-4 people should be asled outside what they are after, if it is truly essential, the next step is to let them, not the whole family and not their whole crew, in to customer service. Item (s) that are essential retrieved. Payment is by credit card or LAR only, and even then, manually entering the cc numbers so their card doesn't touch anything.
ASM's are excited with sales 3x or more higher than normal, but next year when they need to beat those numbers, they will be crying how unfair comp is.
I understand if your refrigerator isn't working, or if an appliance isn't in a rental property that law requures to work, yes, that is essential.
Mulch and flowers, paint, flooring, mowers, and similar items can wait until this passes.
If business is up 3, 4 or 5x normal, you are that much more likely to be infected.
This will sound racist, but is not... Hispanic shoppers come as a whole family. Husband, wife, kids and their parents and in-laws. You see groups of 8-10 just walking around with no purpose and too bored to stay home. The federal, state, and county governments say "Stay Home!" Lowe's says "come buy". Someone is the fool here.
Corporate office is closed. Apparently what is good for one does not apply to the other. They should go to stores and help run a register or stock shelves, get credit card apps.
Essential businesses need to have guidelines. Store open/business as usual is going to spread this virus and associates are going to die.
A lot of hourly associates posting that need hours to get paid yettttttt they crying the store is open 😂 but when it closes they are gonna cry and blame Lowe’s!

If you don't like it, quit. I am sure there are plenty of jobs out there for whiney brats such as yourself.
Companies are folding, millions laid off, and you are upset that your store is open. Those sales pay you and your coworkers.

Honestly, you should be grateful to have hours and a job. Lots of people are being laid off and your complaining. If you are so disgusted and unhappy at Lowe’s leave or use your sick hours. Complaining about it doesn’t change the fact that you are still collecting a check from such a disgusting company.
Best yet - sue the hell out of Lowes If you get Covid 19. Other essential businesses set the bar. Lowes didn’t even look at it. They just bumbled along like nothings going on.
Lol....the ignorance on this site is something else. For the 1000th time, Lowe’s is designated as an essential business. Because of that, ALL stores will remain in operation. What about this do you not understand? If you don’t like it or agree with it that’s ok. Just turn in your resignation and quit.
Call your local and state government and let them know about it. No use posting it here as nothing will be done.
