If you get approved for the 2 week emergency leave, then what. This virus is getting worse each day! At the end of the 2 weeks can you file for FMLA? Would you have to take unpaid leave?

Y’all need to read. If you get the virus you are paid 100% until doc says it’s ok to come back.
The emergency leave now at 4 weeks is for those that are a higher risk or are dealing with no day care.
Yes, you would need to take unpaid leave. If that preserves your benefits then that's the best move actually.
If you find out during those two weeks that you may actually have contracted the virus, you can take an additional paid leave of absence via short term disability if that's offered in your benefits.
Payout is 60% of regular pay. If it comes to that, keep in mind that fully recovered people can still be contagious for a several days so tack on time to the end of your leave.
apparently the Home Depot cares much more about their associates. As you know they are adding 80 hrs for F/T and 40hr for P/T associates with the need to get emergency approval. And they will pay out any of the unused additional hours.
You come back and join the front line like the rest of us.
At the end of your two weeks you come back to work and then someone else gets to go out on leave. You might of been a millwork specialist but when you come back you’ll be a cashier. Lowe’s will put you where there is the greatest need. Right now that is the front end since Marvin sees dollar signs.
