Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

THEY ARE ALL CLOSING!!

I JUST RECIEVED THIS EMAIL...

To Our Customers

Temporarily Closing All Stores Tomorrow
Bed Bath & Beyond is 100% committed to doing the right thing for our customers and associates, and that commitment has been at the forefront of every step taken during the past weeks and days. Given the rapidly changing COVID-19 guidance, we've made the decision to temporarily close all Bed Bath & Beyond locations in support of national efforts to combat the spread.
Starting Monday, March 23, all Bed Bath & Beyond locations will close until April 3.

We realize the impact store closures will have on our associates and assure you the well-being of every employee is a top priority. We want to take care of them in the best way we can and will be providing applicable pay and benefits for this period.

In light of this decision, we want to make sure to give you flexibility regarding any returns you might have and have extended our policy to allow returns for up to 240 days from the date of your purchase.

We remain open online and will continue to serve you through our website at bedbathandbeyond.com. We are enhancing our online capabilities while our buyers and distribution teams are working to replenish products as quickly as possible, so you can purchase and receive other essential items easily.

In this time of great uncertainty, our best defense is to all work together and be good to one another. Stay well, keep safe.

To the previous commenter, YES, We cleaned the item, and we continued to remind that customer about the social distancing policy...to which he said to the manager, “You’re all a bunch of hypochondriacs.” The point is, that there are still a lot of people out there who don’t believe in the gravity of this pandemic, and by keeping the stores freely open to the general public, Buy Buy Baby and Harmon, continue to enable people to spread the virus. I would much rather come in to work at a closed store to do curbside pick up, fill CDS orders, or work freight without having to worry about which one of these ignorant customers is going to be the one who ends up getting us sick.

I do not know where you are getting your info from. In Texas 566 people are infected with this horrible virus and it has taken the lives of 7 people.
As for Arizonia there are 152 people infected and as of two days ago the first death. So if you wish to continue to work you do you and many blessings.

You say they’re only closing because mandated by law. But, in many states, such as Texas and Arizona and New Mexico, it is NOT required to close...... but, BBB is closing. So, I’d say it has nothing to do with the law. In fact, many other non-essential retailers remain open, like Joann, Michaels, Ukraine, etc.

It’s easy to judge a company’s actions but, in these crazy times, I would not want to be the one making those decisions, balancing the future financial health of the company versus the right thing to do for customers and employees health.

Please, he is only closing because he Is forced to by law. The CEO and Corp care about NONE of its employees. More lay offs will come after all this has blown over.

Buy buy Baby and Harmon Face Values stand alone get to stay opened!!! 🤬🤬🤬 Today I saw a customer at my Baby store read the “social distance” sign, laugh, cough into their hand, and wipe it on a product. I wish we could be closed to the public, or just do curbside pickup for the “essential” items that are keeping us open. And so many people out with their babies and kids!!! WHYYYYYYYYYY??????? Fml

I don't know where you people work but at my store the only people who had to report were managers. I have no idea if they still do or not as I haven't had to go to work.

Closing for customers not for employees. All associates to report to help fill online orders and recieve freight. Shame they are trying to frame this for public support while still putting the people who should be most important to them at risk.

Only to customer though. Managers still have to go in and employees are given the option. If you're in a state in which it's mandated that all nonessential workers are not allowed to work, BBB says it is essential because of CDS orders.
