Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Shameful!

It's completely shameful to make it look to the public that we have closed assuming all workers are safe. NO! Despite being closed all the full time workers and managers are being called in and scheduled to receive trucks (why????) when we all know how easy it is to cancel trucks. Not like any of the c-ap coming in will be selling any time soon. Other useless things happening are using this time for dept moves, aisle sets, etc. WTH! Send us home already with no guilt trip. All of us are scared. Just for one time bed bath do the right damned thing for those who work for you. You should not have to be shamed into it. The public thinks we are closed and workers are home, they might need to now know you are still just focused on your sinking bottom line not your people who really work.

My store only closed on Saturday. I was never given the option to stay home.

This company continues to be a dumpster fire.

They closed my store and I had to contact everyone. We’re only closed to the public and opened for operational purposes. The only stores that are opened to customers are the ones with Harmon (so 128 for example). We’re expected to work because we’re management but other part timers and full timers can choose not to come into work for the next two weeks and get paid.

Nothing about Bed Bath is essential. Period. All of those people should be at home. Like we are instructed to do.

I can think of plenty in the "essential" fast food industry who would love a paycheck with significantly fewer interpersonal exchanges
