Most would probably take a pay cut over the next 6 to 12 months if they knew they would still have a job. Having a job and 30% less pay is better than being unemployed, especially during these times.
Mike has the perfect skill sets to navigate Chevron through this crisis.
He deserves his compensation. If nothing else, we want him to remain fully motivated to succeed.
Don’t ask others to do that which you are unwilling to do yourself.
Chevron is a great company to work for.
There are so many folks that would love to work for Chevron.
So focus on YOUR job and help contribute to the solution.
When Chevron has grossly mismanaged projects like FGP, Gorgon/Wheatstone, and Bigfoot to the tune of tens of billions of dollars in cost overruns over the last decade, I'd say no Chevron C-suite exec deserves his/her exorbitant salary. Unfortunately, as with most corporations, the employees ultimately pay for the mistakes of their executive leadership.
Mike Wirth deserves his salary, just like everyone else on the payroll.
So start contributing to solutions instead of creating problems.
MW deserves every penny of his salary for not destroying our company by overpaying for APC. Would you rather be employed by Oxy who may not even exist in a year? His move to reduce CAPEX and operating expenses have optimally positioned Chevron to weather the upcoming storm. Times will be tough still but we are way better of because of MW's decisions. He's not perfect (who is) but he's done a damn good job so far. Anyone who says otherwise is a complete mo–n.
- and monkeys might fly out of my butt. Party on, Excellent,
Odp...the OP refers to the announcement published in Canada that President of CNRL will be taking 20 % reduction in salary to ease the burden on the company, as well as other partners/board members.
How does that even affect you? Or are you just an envious, greedy little self-centered twit?
MW will definitely forgo your salary.
As I commented in an earlier post, MW deserves a lot of credit for not outbidding Oxy for Anadarko. That discipline potentially saves us from a real emergency.. I wouldn't mind if they doubled his salary.
