Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

BBB does not care about its store employees

MT is making it very clear that his only concern are those above the store level. Half the stores close, while the other half stay open with empty shelves? What are we staying open for? Hand sanitizer? Not a single store has any. Aloe gel and rubbing alcohol? Nope, ain’t got that either. Toilet paper? You’re joking, right? MT just gave all of us who work at a store with a Harmon SWS a great big eff you from the comfort of his isolated home office. Maybe us store associates should return the favor and start calling for his resignation.

I am full time and am getting 35 hours a week but not out of my time. I was told I could also go in to get 5 more hours or use 5 hours of my time if I wanted the full 40.

I am an associate at home with pay. Did every store manager not tell their employees it was an option to stay home and get paid?

Just because a store is closed to the public does not mean that we are still not exposed. We will be interacting with our co workers, not to mention the truck drivers....pool, FedEx, ups. Also, how do they plan on cleaning the stores since infected people have been in?

Associates who work at stores that have closed still have to report to work to do operational duties. So they are all at risk too!!!!

We took the job so we deserve to be treated as less than the corporate employees? A very elitist attitude right there. We make you money but at the end of the day we just get a big screw you? What will be funny is when all the lowly store level employees can find jobs after this company fails but you fat hogs with your big salaries will be scrambling. My lifestyle will not be hard to maintain bc I live a humble life, good luck with your multiple car payments and vacation home mortgages.

It isn't fair to pick and choose who gets to be safe, every single employee of BBB Inc should be home getting paid. When those case numbers keep doubling its going to be scary. I am thankful to be off and I'm about to go hunting for food bc there is a rumor I've heard from multiple people that come Monday we will have a nation wide shelter in place order. Haven't had time to prep properly being the only adult in my family and working everyday. Best of luck to everyone.

Maybe you should have planned your career better. It’s not other people’s fault you work in a store, you took the job you dope.

Just call off.
They can’t run a store with without employees. Plus they can’t hire anyone right now because of quarantines and it takes too long to train the new hires.
If they fire you it was time for a change anyway.
