You dont really believe that after 60 days of being paid half salary things are going to get better right? The oil crisis will continue for the entire year. COVID 19 will continue until a vaccine is released. It is likely that after the 60 day period lay offs will happen. As a bonus, you dont get to work anymore for those two mo–n managers running the show in your group. the days of glory are over for those two. Enjoy your half salary!!!!

This part is wishful thinking and/or propaganda. The oil services and oil industry in general is in a real slump. But it's not due to electric cars, which rely on fossil fuels, a relatively small number of pet plants that burn the fossil field and distribute the power over grossly inefficient power transmission lines, and heavy government subsidies to keep them afloat. It's a neat technology and it will continue to improve, but for at least the next few centuries will never surpass the internal combustion engine in terms of reliability, efficiency, and environmental impact over the full product life cycle. Meanwhile, the electric vehicle industry is hating the current market just as much as oil/gas.
I was laid off form this group in April last year. It took me a month and a half to find a job in another industry. I am doing great now. And yes, the managers in that group are a bunch of D–k heads. Get out of there a s soon as you can because there will be more lay offs in the future.
We are going through unique events in history; this economic recession will take time before there is recovery. The main companies impacted by this recession are those related to restaurants, bars, entertainment, hotels and of course those related to travel.....and in this last category we will see a significant reduction in fuel for transportation. Halliburton is one of the service company that will suffer big time through this recession. It will get worst before it gets better. If you are young and in the early stages of your career, think about changing industry because later on in this decade we will see significant reduction in consumption in fuel for transportation due to the growth of electric vehicles and the transportation as a service so people will less as and less have to own cars. Halliburton was a great company, no longer this is the right time to be in this industry.
