Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

Furloughs at Halliburton Starting: March/23/2020

Emails are going out. Furloughs at Halliburton Starting: March/23/2020

  • 1 week on (with pay)...
  • 1 week off (without pay)...

May extend up to 60 days. I am sure they will go beyond this if the Chinese Virus is not erradicated before that. This will be hard on all people with high fixed costs (mortgages, cars, chronic medical).

Those furloughs from a few weeks back are probably unfortunately going to turn into permanent layoffs.

The beauty of this is nepotism. Shame Halliburton leadership. Shame.

This is a Litmus Test. They will do this to every facility in the future and there will be multiple rounds. That way in 6-9 months when oil starts to rebound they can recover faster. Side effect is lots of people will quit too so win win for them

The only safe play Halliburton has left is cut the dividend and preserve capitol. Stock has taken major hit who cares about dividend, need to survive. Second let’s hope the Government issues Halliburton a low interest loan to prevent a massive collapse. I think Halliburton has 52 percent debt ratio that needs to be reduce ASAP. Third oil price needs to rebound to 45 at least. No new capital projects will be issued by anyone in 20 dollar range. Finally, management needs to cut their pay and bonuses and wasteful costs employees.

Maybe you can use the HAL stock certificates as toilet paper. Good luck.

At the rate they are going, they will get fifty percent of the workforce. Everyone will be furloughed in order to make you quit. Everyone whose week starts on Thursday and ends on Wednesday will end up only getting 7 days in a 28 day period the way pay period work. Who can live on that.

I just got an email from my manager confirming the report. Seems only NB at the moment. NB has the largest head count, maybe that is why. You know they are making deals with lobbyist. This entire thing is so jacked up.

Well the people in the field again taking in the shorts as the fat at the top refuse to sacrifice half of what they make ! Ever since Dave was forced out by the so called Board this company has been run poorly , upper management continued to s— the life out of once successful business and company. How truly pathetic .

Glad to hear that the Senior Directors and VP’s are leading by example! No furlough or loss of pay, excellent way to drive motivation and loyalty in your teams to new lows! Any halfway decent leader would have insisted on 1/2 pay for Senior Director and above who are not subject to furlough...time for any remaining talent to leave

"Chinese" is not a race. Even if Chinese were a race, it would not be "racist" to acknowledge it originated from China. More specifically, it is believed to have originated from a seafood market in China, likely from a bat.
