Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

F you Macy’s

Company closing until 4/1, salaried managers/executives still have to go to work. Good to know you don’t give a sht about us. I’m not unloading trucks with four ppl you can get lost with that sht.

Macy's stepped up and did the right thing for their colleagues. Everyone with the exception of FTW (who we do not guarantee hours to are being paid while the company is closed down.) The only exception are some exempt executives who have to be in the store during the shutdown to ensure operations and safety of the building. It's pretty phenomenal that the company is paying the entire organization while closed and generating zero in sales. Those complaining should instead be grateful they weren't furloughed without pay. Thank you Macy's!

Has none of you read what the Surgeon General has said about the virus, or the many other scientists and doctors? Social distancing may not be enough to counter or slow the virus. This isn't about being lazy or not wanting to work. This is about not wanting to get sick and die, or get sick and pass the virus on to someone else who could get sick and die.

The company has sent out multiple emails to executives saying they should work from home if at all possible, and now they are requiring some to go in to work when it isn't even necessary. This doesn't make sense at any level. There is nothing that we can do right now that is an essential function. And doing tasks like fulfilling orders or making shipments to customers is actually counter productive to slowing the spread of the virus. If anything we shouldn't be clogging up the shipping industry with sequined tshirts. The only things that should be shipped out right now should be essential products that people need to live. Even Amazon has enough sense to halt shipments of no essential products to customers.

Trucks are being stopped. We were scheduled for one on Wed and we got it stopped. I’m happy to go to work while I’m getting paid my regular salary. There’s things that still have to be done, you can’t just flip a switch and turn off everything that happens in our stores.

When I checked I had no inbound truck. Although it was loaded. I'd take this over no check or a 1/3 of a check. Go do a project, stay away from others and most importantly.. Shut Your Oie Hole !!

Why don’t you just quit then.
You have a terrible attitude, and if you worked for me, I’d fire you.
Go make some other company miserable with your presence.

I am shocked that it isnt the other way...that executives get to stay home and the hourly store employees go to the stores to work..
