CES Stoughton Technical Center in Wisconsin has salaried employees working from home. The hourly test technicians and building maintenance employees are still working on site. I will say that plenty of precautions are being taken to reduce spread of this virus here. deep cleaning and disinfecting by professional cleaning company. there are also bottles of virucide that technicians can use to spray down their areas. hand sanitizer around every corner, 6 foot social distancing, screening before entering facility. The safety team here is doing the best they can to prevent spread. I have to give credit to them for these precautions. I also have to give thanks to those test technicians and building maintenance for enduring and keeping this site moving forward. Site and lab leadership are also to thank for their part in facilitating safe working conditions and understanding of the situation those hourly are in. We can clearly see now who is the backbone of this site(hourly) and that without them, this site would surely be closed. kudos to all the hourly at stoughton, I have a vast amount of respect for you after all of this. I can only hope that hourly here isn't affected by any future RIFs. I also hope leadership sees this.....pass it on.

Silver - when it comes to Cummins, is there really a difference between Indiana and India? I think your autocorrect just knows what's up.

Even the warehouse in India a isn't shutting down despite the higher number of cases going up about 10 a day now. The cleaning is a joke and they're out of cleaning supplies as is. I wanna quit so bad but without pay I cant afford rent or food to survive this damn quarantine.

I work at Cummins JEP and what a freaking joke. First off they are NOT increasing any type of cleaning. The crews come in and take out trash, clean the bathrooms once and go home. You’d expect to see hand sanitizer at every entrance and this none. The central area where people purchase food and drinks is absolutely disgusting. This company does not care about its employees at all. Our leadership told us “customer demand comes before any concern revolving around the coronavirus” which just means employee health is not important. If this were even remotely true then why would management and support teams be working from home? This place is one big smoke and mirror show.

Local plants plan to keep production going

http://www.therepublic.com/2020/03/19/local_plants_plan_to_keep_production_going/

I was reading the article, it's a joke. You can clean and clean and clean, but if one person has it they are going to spread it around everyday they are in it. And if it's "safe" enough for the hourly that can't work from home to work there, then why not the engineers and managers and other hourly that are working at home?

I guess at the end of the day a large portion of your workers can be looked at for their safety being at home but not the other portion, what a joke.

GM, Ford and Chrysler Fiat is shutting down all US plants. I expect Cummins will also end up shuttering all its plants.

Cummins is more depressing than Covid-19.
With all these closures and China manufacturing delays expect more layoffs. Not a single day of job security in this so called fortune 500 company

My issue is the ones that can't work remotely what then?

I believe every CMI employee who can is supposed to work remotely for next 3 weeks. Would expect all CMI facilities to look like a ghost town for next few weeks.

The Cummins Tech Center was a ghost town, but they have the hourly workers who are the techs still working. Sooner or later they are going to have to shut down the tech center, it's only a matter of time.
