Overhead the ops manager telling the parts dept that they’re essential employees and must be here no matter what.. do you guys think we’re considered “essential”?

how 'essential' is a printer? sorry not at all, unless you are dealing with people. (hospital printers) property ,or infrastructure (power,it companies) it is NOT essential, I don't care about some VIP insurance broker with lines on his prints, get a grip PRIORITY is YOUR health! Xerox are acting like the white star line, as soon as we sink your pay will stop!
I axed da owner of VPN two week ago if there was nuff capacity to support widespread usage due to dat virus. Answer: more than enough capacity.
I've been working from home for two days now. Everything is working well, but the VPN is a little slow. Manageable, at this point. Our Core's IT sent out a message about it and communication has been decent so far, overall.
They are moving almost everyone to work from home. It's going to be interesting.
I should clarify - the IT notices about the VPN issues were sent out within XDX, not the general community.
Guessing we got lucky; we have two VPN options and its a bit slower than normal, but working well. Didn't see anything from Xerox, but our Core's IT (yup, we still have some for now) did a good job of communication for us.
Thanks I have not seen a single notice and none of my coworkers have either. Communications within the company have been poor.
There have been several IT notices that were sent about the VPN (XEAN) being overloaded. But many companies are experiencing the same thing since none of them are really built for most of the traffic being routed through them.
The VPN bandwidth is not currently big enough for the remote load.
Anyone else having trouble connecting to the vpn? I’m sick and not coming into the office.
Xerox management defines “essential” as one’s ability to s— up.
Essential to the bottom line. But, your well being is not essential to the company. Very sad, But that is how they really feel.
Essential = your work cannot be done from home.
I'm working for xerox now, the vast majority of what I do can be done with a PC, email, webex, and such. So what's essential for me is that I work from home, to reduce the risk of exposure to those people who do need to be onsite.
Your life is more important than that rotten dump!
