Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Record Coversations

Start your phone voice recorder anytime a manager wants to have a conversation with you about anything.

This is only as a CYA type of move - it is not to be done as a gotcha type of move. Many of the stupid a– insults that managers are hitting us with originate from NC not from your manager.

If you are written up you will have something to back up your situation. You may let your manager know if you want that you will be recording the conversation. If convo is legit they will haave no problem.

If your situation at work is dire enough that you need to record your conversations.. get a new job, it's JUST LOWES. Is it worth a bunch of legal bullc-ap? There is life after this job, just move on dude.

and i think the point is that even if it is illegal - if the recording is placed in a variety of places before any lawsuits hit- the words are still out there- will not be good for the person being recorded.

The guy also suggested that make the othe person aware of the recording - it is just a CYA type of deal.

Texas is a one party consent state! Record away!

You sing on ur application that you won’t violate company policies and recording someone in the store is against them. The stores are Lowe’s private property so even if u recorded your manager calling you and id–t to your face, you would still be the one fired for violating company policy and recording without consent.

Place your phone or other recording device on the desk and ask if it is okay to record. That is the only way it is legal, if both parties are aware.

Note that this is illegal in many places (one or two party consent) if it's in private. On the floor or night be considered public but the legality for two party consent states is still dicey, but IANAL.
