Because Marvin's pay check is more important than ours!

Sadly it's all about the benjamins, or should I say stock price. Make the work environment as unpleasant for the full-time Lowe's employees as possible so that they will all quit. If the current under-staffing, taking away the allowance, systemic systems issues, and "out of stocks" wasn't enough they will keep applying pressure till we all walk. Bring in the unskilled, know next to nothing, happy to make minimum wage part-time employee with limited benefits. Problem with that is eventually the customer's will quit shopping us. It has already started and don't take my word for it just look at what our customer's are posting on social media about all of our half-baked changes. Mark my words, corporate is going to start massacring the Canada chains at an accelerated pace with the new Marv puppet (i.e., ex Home Depot / JCPenny friend) that has been brought in to run it . The best thing for us would be for the bottom to fall out of our stock price and just maybe we could get some real leadership at the helm before it is too late. Not holding my breath it will happen in time to save our rapidly failing reputation.
Because other companies that hire people like you with similar skills are cutting hours too.
Since Lowe’s believes you won’t leave and aren’t aware you are getting cheated, they cut too.
No one wants to, nor will work for Lowes. They wont report it, but the seasonal hires in 2020 will be a failure and all time low.
The message about Lowes is out - DO NOT WORK THERE!
Lowes will have a terrible hiring event, then with the Chinese supply chain collapse, Lowes will be in the toilet. Customer who are still left will say enough is enough.
Add that to an already established crippled operating structure and failed store management execution and you really have nothing to offer to anyone. Marv is destroying Lowes. FACT! Just a matter of time.
We are not Home Depot and need our own unique identity and mission statement. Playing follow the leader is a failure. Every employee has shut down. Theres simply no incentive to excel in this environment or even try to.
Good job Lowes Corporate! You are all empty suits, brainless minions, and captains on a ship with no compass or steering wheel.
At my store it’s because they have already started to hire seasonal part-timers. They started early this year because of the difficulties that they had last year; needed 26, only hired 18, 13 showed up, 6 lasted all season, 2 stayed on.
This week I got 10 hours; noon to 5 on Saturday to cover cashier meals and 3 to 8 on Sunday to put away the last of the freight from the previous week. I used to get around 32, sometimes more, hours per week. Right now it’s all going to the seasonal hires.
Show me the sales money first and then Marv and "small Hands" will put some people on the floor. Its difficult to leverage payroll as its is, then throw in the customer centric stuff.
They also stopped spend management orders towards the end of the fiscal year (before we were told the system was being updated), we had to reorder all kinds of supplies to run the store on a daily basis a second time. Spend management updates....yeah right. fourth quarter results should have a nice spin to show the positives.
