Thread regarding CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield layoffs

The culture of constant changes

It’s about time we make peace with the fact that constant changes and reorgs are not part of some precise plan of the leadership that relies with their vision of what the company is going to look like in the future, but that they have become embedded so deep into the company culture that they have become part of a constant process and a purpose to themselves only.
What I’m trying to say is that, while we all hope that there is some final outcome to the reorgs, and that if we survive them some better times awaits us at this company, that is never going to happen. The changes will keep on coming, the cut as the product of the changes will continue until this company is run into the ground, or if we are lucky enough, until some new leadership takes over that actually has a real vision. The real question is: can we wait that long and can we sacrifice a big portion of our career, gambling on the possibility that the structure and the culture can change.

When there are swarms of consultants perpetually about for years, it says a few things: some I’m leadership don’t have a real understanding of the business environment, much less a clue about a real mission or plan despite the 5-3-1 plan that really is more of a paper tiger, and when things go wrong, well, we consultants are always happy for another consulting engagement.

Brian is a liar and didn't mean anything he said when he started as the CEO, that ought to be pretty clear to folks by now

Remember when Brian started as CEO and said he was thankful that after always being at a for profit company and having to worry about layoffs around thanksgiving that he was at CF where he longer had to endure that stress? Guess he forgot that peaceful feeling pretty quickly...CF is a joke anymore

They laid off hundreds last year and will lay off hundreds this year. All cleverly done.

It’s a sh–ty management technique. As evidenced by the fact that nothing is really getting done.
