Why does it bother you so much? You don’t have to click on this topic and read it. As a matter of fact you don’t even have to visit this website at all.

Does anyone know if Google will allow us early retirement with a lump sum?

As a union steward, I can neither confirm nor deny any news about this sale. However, I can tell you that IBEW will continue to fight hard for a new contract whoever owns the company. Please keep paying your union dues in the meantime. IBEW strong.

The average Google employee makes $125k a year. That mess as bs we will all get raises when this sale happens. This would be so awesome

It’s odd that the union has been so silent on this sale. No desk drops or anything. Does Google have to keep the union?

Had a conversation with google personally! The check is signed, they’re just waiting for our incompetent management to fold and our company to go belly up!

Google takes care of their employees. Has anyone seen that movie the Internship? Google gives their employees free food and they have slides between floors. They also have a spaceship hanging from the ceiling. I know they would really clean up our building and make it really nice if the sale goes thru.

"Can Google buy us even though we don’t have a new labor contract? Would the union negotiate with Google then?"
First of all. It's not happening. Google would never buy "for the fiber" if they had to also take the copper. And I have to assume we would never sell separately.
Second, your "union" doesn't have a say in the sale. You need to do yourself a favor and realize the union has nearly zero "power" at this moment. It truly is as if they dont exist right now in regards to what the next few months/1.5yrs will be. Sorry you've been led to believe they'll protect you.

@OP, I’m taking your words with a pinch of salt, as he doesn’t seem to be in charge anymore. ⬇️

Page was the chief executive officer of Alphabet Inc. (Google's parent company) until stepping down on December 3, 2019.
