only has 1 Boilermaker left in the entire shop. The Management id–ts tried to call 2 back for furlough relief and those two rightfully declined the invitation. Now they are up in arms to get burning and welding done. They are asking other crafts to chip in and help out if they are capable. Very few at SCX give a darn about fixing locomotives and sending them up to the ready tracks unrepaired. Guess what Ferrell, we don't don't give 2 p–p 's about PSR and we will show you. What are you gonna do? Shut us down? Go ahead...Do it.... F-U

Be prepared to do more than one job, their going to continue to cut employees to the core! We've been cut so deep at UPRR our service track had 7 mso running it per shift, were now down to 3 , completely closed our overhaul department, eliminating all of our pipefitter craft, and all but 2 Boilermakers, we have to stick together and support each others crafts, god bless and good luck!
Yes...... Yessssssss........
Here's a grand idea, let them get qualified and do it! They're always wanting the ones left to do more and more ,let them actually do something besides kiss a___! They're not doing one thing to help those left except work the sh__ out of the few left.
If they were to call 2 back. They would continue to call down the list untill they got 2
Stop hiding behind the people that are laid off as an excuse for you to be lazy. Just admit you are. We all already know it. I’m not worried about getting laid off they will fire enough people like you who are on your phone or breaking some other obvious rule.
Portion of Roanoke Shops (east) is already sold to Progressive rail services . Carilion is buying from the car shop up to 581 to build offices and a new food distribution center .
Since when does NS follow anything by the contract?
Here’s an idea for those of you who think Norfolk owes you something or those that don’t like how the company is being run.........RESIGN. If you don’t like that idea get out of the way then for those of us who have pride in our own self worth and want to earn a paycheck!
My cousin goes to church where a general forman from rls goes who lives in Salem and he's been telling everyone the shutdown is on its way and he's going to be reassigned to Chattanooga he hopes
Sir, under normal circumstances and work conditions with a normal company, your statement would be true “coming in and doing your job for which you are paid and contracted to do.” But under a company that’s sole desire is to enrich the shareholders by gutting the core with no other objective, they can kick rocks. By keeping your mentality underneath a company such as NS, you’ve merely turned into a corporate slave answering yessa masta! The NS train is coming to an end, why not enjoy the short journey instead of breaking your back with no other destination in sight besides unemployment with this company.
I like how some of you think that coming in and doing your job for which you are paid and contracted to do is “being a hero” or a “company man.”
Nobody said they called "all BM's" back for furlough relief Bake Jilthuis. He said they tried to call 2 back. That's a fact jack.
Dont do other crafts work as instructed. Lose your job sooner instead of later smart ........
The problem is no managment will stand up for the hourly. They will do what ever they can to make numbers. They will not let the axe man know we need man power.
They have not called all Boilermakers for furlough relief that statement is not a fact jack
Apple butter on a biscuit is ta die for
Like mentioned before, the ship is goin down! 2 choices, be the one with a 10oz bottle bailing water out in hopes to save the ship which will hit the bottom ultimately, or be on the stern with the majority and watch the crew sink it’s own vessel. Anyone trying to save this place now is a fool
I know a SCX Pipefitter who was a certified welder before joining the railroad who would not decline the invitation to come back and be a Pipefitter/Boilermaker. He worked everyday of the decade he was there. Never played the “Aflac game”. Gotta love that union seniority it really holds on to the sorry and knocks the working man out of a job!
And there are still people jumping through hoops for these d—s. Keep getting the work out and they will continue to cut, which they are going to do anyway, but at least act like you care about the guys at the bottom of the list. I stopped caring when the first group hit the door last year. People doing Boilermaker and engine carpenter work like it's their work. Bunch of damn people that won't stick together. The ship is going down, the least we can do is have each other's backs while we are along for the ride. FU NS.
