Bed Bath & Beyond – The retail company’s stock plummeted 25% in extended trading after it announced preliminary guidance data for the first two months of the 2019 fourth quarter. Same-store sales fell 5.4% driven by the decline in-store traffic, the company said in the release. “We are experiencing short-term pain in our efforts to stabilize the business,” President and CEO said in the announcement.
Bed Bath also blamed some of the sales fall-off to out-of-stocks, somewhat ironic as one of the most frequently cited complaints against the retailer is that its stores carry too much inventory. The company said it “is immediately reforming its internal planning and inventory management procedures to master the fundamentals.”
Out of stock during Christmas yes of course ! We had to ship out all our good merchandise to fulfill the increased TBS orders. So, no sorry customer we can't sell you it.. It's boxed up to be shipped out...but we can try and order you one. What a wast e of time, and effort. !!!
No wonder store sales are down , and on line orders are up.
The only fix to the sales declines and profit are sorry to say ...Lay Off's are coming!

Bottom line here. I left and I’m glad I did. When the inventory is done your done. Start looking. When Steve T and the old board was there they only cared about their pockets not the company. It to late. The took everything including the crumbs.
I just do not get it. how much are they saving by laying off part time help? I see a ton of waste every night.
If your going to have a return policy, stick to it. there are too many unnecessary returns happening because they customer yells and complains and reports it to Corp., which will force us to do the return.
There are less people on the floor so now there is more theft and people are opening products, damaging the material and or stealing parts.
Why donate all the holiday merchandise, keep marking it down to get at least something for it.
Why have managers stand at attention on the front end when busy. Get on that register and help.
Get rid of that Bridal desk, this is where the managers/seniors sit around and b—s—.
Streamline the MOS/Damage/Transfer process. too much time is wasted.
I can go on and on.
There are too many steps involved when TBS store is out of stock on merchandise. and, that store does not even get the credit for the sale. I say that they put that customer on the phone with the store, take the information, purchase the merchandise and ship it directly to the customer from that store.
