Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Stressed!

Last 3 years have been stressful for most of us !! Just let me know .. hey we are getting rid of your role ... by blah blah blah .. okay .. but the company has no respect for its employees.. they think they won’t do their jobs or sabotage the company .. it’s ridiculous.. sending everything to India is not a solution.... cut the highest management which makes well over six figures ... there’s your money ... there is no reason for over head to pay people millions and all the people who do all the grunt work make pennies .. sales and warehouses and traffic etc are the back bone ... company thinks that you have a degree in basket weaving you are better than anyone else .. so disappointed.. thought we could retire but here we go again .. @sses!

This is so funny to read, the backbone of the company? You should be ashamed!! Walk around and look at things, go look into a route truck and see how your sales force keeps the inside of the trucks? Looks like the inside of a dumpster. A brand new truck is junk in weeks from no care and hitting everything in site. Walk around the outside of a warehouse, garbage blowing everywhere, c-ap piled in every corner, broken carts and cardboard thrown all over, sales displays piled all over, filth everywhere!! And traffic? Prima Donna "professional" truck drivers who wreck everything they touch and are paid well into the 6 figure range. And who watches over this entire mess? Managers who only care about a score card and keeping their heads above water long enough to get to the next job!!

Welcome to capitalism! Which isn't a bad thing, but like alcohol, if not diluted and limited, will quickly poison you.

I worked for Pepsi for 42 years and was given a full severance a year ago - I wasn’t ready to retire.

I had purchased 1 stock per week of Pepsi stock for my entire career. I was always modest with savings. When they severanced me out last year I had enough in savings that I was able to put all of the money into Pepsi stocks this last year. Pepsico stock pays dividends which is driving the price hike. As they push each of you for more and more and cut more and more heads continue to buy the stock as worse case scenario they will sell off the beverages and make even more $ short term. It’s all good folks.

I am in Costa Rica this season. I travel by the season thanks to your efforts. Cheers.

True ! The problem is that we all believed the PepsiCo rhetoric about integrity and loyalty. In reality, PepsiCo was a festering sludge of corruption and politics. The company worked hard to foster an image that would draw in good people so they could be exploited. There is no compassion for employees who are still working or who have been let go. The PepsiCo mission is being accomplished, people are getting filthy rich by a skyrocketing stock price. Nothing else matters. Go on with your life and stop looking for empathy where it does not exist. The company does not care about you, you are now a cost burden and obstruction to higher stock prices. The only thing that matters now is getting rid of you with the least impact to the bottom line. They are even working on a plan to dump HR which are the only people with enough commitment to carry out the termination orders. If your perception is anything else, you are wrong.

It is tiring. We see the wealthiest continue to be shielded while the rest get the axe. It’s unfortunate. All I can say is I’m staying until the bitter end. I gave up higher wages because I had my pension here at PepsiCo. I’m going to make sure I get every penny that I have earned.
