Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

I have been with the company for 16 years...

Unless they fire me, I will be entering my 17th year in a few months.

I was told years ago when my manager told me I would be in charge of doing IRP's and coming in at 3am to complete those and then working my actual job...

  • Which is RTM that he was trying to help me keep a position with the company...

As in his words they were going to be eliminating all non-sales positions...

Well if that's the case when are they getting rid of the store managers...

I have never seen a store manager make a sale unless he happens to jump on a register for code 3, which has happened since there aren't enough cashiers either…

I know RTM is next on the chopping block even though most RTM's bring back anywhere from 500,000 to a million running credit for their stores product...

How unfortunate that Marvin doesn't feel that having tenured employees is a blessing not a curse...

The CEO is a waste of payroll. Spending the tax cuts of stock buybacks instead of on the employees who make a single cent in profit possible in the first place. Keeping on racist upper management is a waste of payroll. Paying a guy 115000 a year to make weekly dad joke videos is a waste of payroll. Paying store managers more money the less they staff the store is a waste of payroll.

Get your perspective corrected unless you want that boot you're picking to kick you to the curb like everyone else who came before you.

You are being retained within the store. Stop crying about it. RTM is a waste of payroll within the store. No other retailer (big box) does it in store anymore. It’s much more cost effective for it to be centralized. Yes they brought a lot of money back to bottom line however, nobody cares.

Not all non sales positions are being eliminated . There will always be a need for back end receiving clerk and a supervisor and stocking to make sure freight gets to the floor etc. So for your store manager to say that they are emlinating all non sales positions is incorrect.

No yet anyway it’s all a joke . Blind guides can’t see the Truth . No coverage no real help . AEP Pro reps will be gone soon . Moral s—s people are leaving that are good . Time to find a new job after 12 years.

And if you’re an RTM clerk then you understand that the position is being eliminated, the process revamped, and you as a person are not being eliminated but moved to a different spot in the store. I don’t agree with all the changes, but your post makes it sound like he’s laying off more folks which in this case he is not.
