Raises 2020

What would it take for you dummies to see this is a dead end job and quit? None of you will see a raise this year, just like last and the year before that. Ohhh you got a big 25 cent raise last year!? Well congratulations but if your "raise" is less than the 2% inflation... it's a pay CUT! Don't forget how they cut your accruel rates and stole your accrued sick time either. If you haven't noticed everyone is hiring right now, you can go anywhere and make more money, and even be treated like an asset, not a slave like at Walmart. Get some damn ambition and improve your life, there will never be a better time to leave that dead end Walmart job than right now.

I worked for Walmart for 5 years and unfortunately it was a definitely a dead end job for me. I enjoyed the work Nd I got promoted within months. I felt like I was appreciated but then I started seeing lots of changes every year. After they implemented pto. It was a wrap. Every year I’d try to see if it would get better and then I wanted to apply for ASM and it never came. I got a new ASM that made my life hell. Nothing I ever did was right even after I’d do it her way she would find something wrong with it. She threatend my position saying I wasn’t made for my current role. Never has my work ethic or Evals been questioned or reflected otherwise. I was belittled by her and took me into depression and I was going thru anxiety disorder. I’d cry to think of me going into work and deal with her. But finally I decided to go on a leave for my sanity and well being. I went to therapy and overcame my depression and realized I don’t need to continue with it. I never went back! Now I’m working for a job that’s unionized with way better pay and benefits. So I should thank that ASM cuz of her I’m way better now!

Walmart has been a stable job. Its definatly not for everyone. Now I understand that even with stability its extreamly rough work, and i too feel like it leads to nowhere and we are worked like dogs. I've worked three long mentally and physically exhausting years there. I see a lot of problems with walmart and I'm sure the grass isnt greener on the other side with any other job. Anywhere you work will have its issues and bright sides. With that being said I look forward to my new job soon. Peace out Walmart.

Congrats on leaving! Not sure why anyone would continue to work for this company? Better jobs are available EVERYWHERE right now, and it's pretty obvious what direction this company is headed.

I like it here. I also enjoy working. My boss is cool and I learn every day. This makes our statement wrong OP

It's dead end because Walmart doesn't give raises and the only chance to make a decent living is management, and who in their right mind would want to be management for this company?

Wouldn’t call WalMart a dead end job... maybe If you are a lazy/negative individual, but then everywhere would be dead end for you so...
