Thread regarding Dean Foods Co. layoffs

Berkeley Farms is the most modern milk plant in California.

Odds are a new owner will buy them out and continue business as usual. The competitors have run down outdated facilities and are not equipped to produce the volume they turn out.

But folks we need to be honest here, Deans is just another company. Good employees will be successful anywhere they work.

I reposted it, wasn’t trying to steal nor to stir the pot, I just thought that more people should see it, as the original post was logical, but buried within a thread. As we are all anonymous here, didn’t think that OP would mind about someone making his/hers post more visible. Little did I know.

It will most likely come down to how profitable the plant is as to whether a buyer will be interested. A state of the art high volume plant that has high costs of labor, depreciation, taxes, wastewater treatment/BOD charges may not be as profitable as a smaller plant that costs significantly less to run. Just having a shiny new plant, which is extremely rare in the Deans properties, does not guarantee it will be attractive to a potential buyer.

Unless those good employees work for Deans then they only fail.
