Called about mine. It’s SAFE but you can’t touch it until the mature date. Which in my case is 2048. A measly $254.00 a month for 6 years of service

How are your pensions safe when they haven't even been paying into it to the tune of 1.5 billion....your 401k is safe though

Correct, pensions are as safe as any other investment. If the invested principal does well, you'll get your money when its due. But like Deans if they mismanaged it, then your pension could be gone i.e. completely wiped out. No one can give a guarantee of anything.
