Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

$15 an hour at Target!

Seems to be a LOT of unhappy Walmart "associates" here and rightfully so. "Raises" that don't even match inflation, stolen sick time, lowered accruel rates, cut hours, no holiday pay etc etc... It's a great time to leave Walmart and even Target is promising $15 an hour by years end, time to promote yourself...

LOL! You think we're gonna be replaced by robots? This company is completely inept when it comes to computers/technology, have you ever tried to use onewalmart? Or used Walmart.com? Yea, good luck with those robots.....

40+hrs a week and +$15/hr. I dont like how they got rid of holiday pay, how they dont give you your vacation hrs all at once at the beginning of the year anymore, how they are eliminating positions so theres not many ways to move around like there was and no more $1 an hour more for working sundays. But ive done worse jobs for less money before. Ill b–ch about the increased workloads with the new structure but it wont change anything. Soon there will be only a handfull of people working the stores along side the "robots". Dont be surprised when walmart closes their doors to customers and only sell products online for either delivery or pick up and starts functioning like Amazon does. Customer accident claims wont exist, theft will pretty much stop except for when its done by employees which will be easy to catch when theyre the only ones in the store. Robots dont maks human errors like miscounts and missed price changes. From a buisness perspective that seems like the obvious answer to alot of the financial goals. I cant blame them for doing it. Theyre there to make a profit not to make sure you are getting what you need.

Yes fast food and also gas stations pay more than Walmart, 13.60 to start at the local kwik trip. There's no reason for anyone to be working at Walmart right now

Fast food in my town pays more than Walmart. Look at your options, folks.

The problems is Target has cut hours too. But for many like myself, the nearest target is a little over a hour drive(65+) miles.
