I wouldn't count on a job if service desk gets flipped over to R1. R1 packages up those jobs and ships them to India. Unless you're willing to relocate 7,800 miles from home.

If these layoffs happen, the 403b if you don't have the 5 years in for fully divested amount, better not be stolen by the company...

Dunno about layoffs but can seriously see entire SD converting to R1 contractors with the option to hire in with them or leave.

Please remember it takes time for a project as large as this. Replacing 100+ agents is no simple feat. It will take considerable resources to provision their accounts. It will take time and effort to train the resources. The email being planned is to inform of the change and we won’t be fired the week it comes out. The transition is expected to take several months. Rather it’s done in a wave approach or a single day switch over is up in the air. There will be time to seek other opportunities, but it’s advisable to start managing your resources now. Save money in your bank if you can. Cancel un-needed subscription, research your insurance policy to see if you have gap insurance while being unemployed. Start looking into ways to reduce your overall monthly expenses. It’s a good time to update your resume, to get letters of recommendation, to come together with your neighbors and help each other find new resources to get by. If you have pto days, take then. Don’t panic here amongst the chaos, and be proactive. Take time and have the difficult conversation with your family and spouses. Determine where you want to go from here and start making steps. You will get through this. Every tough circumstance you have come across you have made it though. This will be no different. Think about the thinks in your life that you are grateful. It will help push you through the tough times.

"So while they have all the time in the world to prepare, you are all given no indication outside of unverified rumors." Umm, yeah. Thats how it happens every time. Anyone that has been around a couple years knows that..

I’ve been sworn to secrecy but can’t continue to support what’s been going on when I have friends here that will be severely impacted with limited warning. I’ve been involved in this for some time now and need to make sure anyone that reads this understands this is happening very very soon. Please begin to take interviews, update your resumes and take ALL of your pto. It’s heartbreaking that this is the reality but it is. Amy knows, managers know, directors know and they are saying NOTHING to you. So while they have all the time in the world to prepare, you are all given no indication outside of unverified rumors. Well take this as a verification- We’ll be gone before winter. Wait for an email that will rock the entire desk and departments within soon

Aside from an official email to the Service Desk we have no way of knowing if the comment below is actually from Amy or not. I can say for certain it will be difficult for her to be a director if there is no one under her to manage. I imagine she would fight for that at minimum. Another thing to consider is that we don’t know how high up the strings are being pulled from. It may be completely out of her hands. The staffing on the service desk is critically low. I know my team had 11 additional SDA to handle the call volume a little over a year ago. The call volume hasn’t really dropped since then. I also don’t get the notion of why they needed to pull so many associates from other department instead of hiring more analysts. They let their g-suite contractor go earlier then expected in February too.

"Whoever keeps posting ominous sh*t needs to stop. You’re dead wrong, Amy wouldn’t let this happen without giving some notice"

If any of you think that Amy gives a fat rat's a– about ANY of us, you're delusional. If she cared at all, we would have gotten the email denying the rumor, since we didn't, it's most likely true. Make no mistake, she 8a not going to put her job on the line for us - she is gonna do what's best for her just as you would.

Draconian performance evaluations throwback to 1939.

Merit Increases and Recognition Payment: Like many other health systems and companies across the country, Ascension must carefully manage expenses while services are returning. Consequently, annual pay increases will not be awarded in FY21. However, we know our associates have worked diligently around the clock, and we want to recognize and reward our associates during these challenging times. Therefore, we are providing a one-time recognition payment to eligible associates in September. More information will be shared in August with leadership and associates.

Eligibility as of June 30, 2020

Recognition Award Amount

Full-Time Associate

$500

Part-Time Associate

$250

PRN Associate

$200

Notes:
Contracted associates, temporary and contingent workers, and associates eligible for any at-risk or incentive programs will not be eligible for this recognition payment. More information will be shared soon.
Associates subject to collective bargaining agreements should consult with their union representatives regarding applicability and eligibility.
Although FY20 performance evaluations will not be completed this year, we expect to fully reengage the performance evaluation and annual merit pay program, which started during FY20 for FY21. Ongoing performance conversations and the year-end evaluation will continue during FY21. This will be an important input for merit pay consideration in FY22. Information and education supporting the Pay for Performance program will start being shared in July and will continue throughout the fiscal year.
Socially Just Wage: Our Socially Just Wage reflects Ascension’s commitment as a Catholic ministry to ensuring a fair and just wage. For FY21, we are increasing our Socially Just Wage minimum to $13 per hour, which will be effective January 2021.

Market Adjustments: We will continue our commitment to deliver market-competitive compensation. We’re following our usual practice of reviewing market data and implementing market adjustments where needed to ensure associate pay is market competitive.

We thank all of you for your dedication and commitment to our patients and communities.

I asked my Team Lead about these rumors over a month ago. They were told not to address this a referred me to speak with a manager. Don’t you find it odd that they haven’t sent out any communication to the service desk about this? If this was only a rumor it would be a quick email out to stomp it out. It’s clear from talking with my TL that this topic has been talked about in their weekly opps meeting. It makes zero sense that they haven’t sent out any communication. The only logical explanation is that it is true, and that they don’t want to communicate this. If the rumor isn’t true, then it’s not in their best interest to leave it out there. Why? Because this rumor lower morale. It causes people to ask why should I bother.

Amy - If you see this, rip of the bandage off now. It’s a heavy burden that you are carrying that is not good for your health. The teams that report to you deserve transparency and waiting to July to drop information is not doing anyone any favor. Yes it’s tough to deliver news, but it is needed, nonetheless. This can no longer be kept a secret.

I'm hoping that Ascension realizes what side their bread is buttered on and not outsource the desk to India. Then again they already sold PHI to Google with that project nightingale garbage. Seems there's no limit to what this Catholic company would do for a buck.

A closed door meeting happened with Service Desk Upper management. They were still in the phase of pricing out the cost of moving to India. The two weeks that have occurred since, people have been pretty checked out.

The people in charge are actively shopping around in India to replace the entire service desk, even now during this pandemic. Do not be surprised if they lay off the whole desk. They could care less about employee satisfaction or patient care, they only care bout lining their pockets with $$$.

Ascension has already pushed its staff to burnout but now since everyone is WFH they're pushing even more because they know people are scared of losing their jobs so they'll take the overtime.

@yldq+13ovVxWZ Sounds like something a manager that works at ascension would say. When you have dealt with that company for 5 years and have dealt with all of their b—s— that the midnights team has, this is just the icing on the cake. Don’t be mad because some of us saw what was going on and got out in time and can do nothing but laugh at how sh–ty that company has gotten.

I’m in tears. I’ve worked so hard for the desk. I’ve made an effort to be reliable and help as much as I can...ive made goals and met those goals. I’ve put my all into this desk, and I know I will not find better. I know I will not get the pay that I have here, and the amazing benefits that come with it. I AND others work like dogs pounding out calls, being as respectful as possible, and making sure we can help our medical professionals as much as we can. If I have to I will slave over two jobs and make it work. I just wish they cared about us instead of serving greasy fried chicken and pizza for lunch as bribery to “be happy and grateful”. We mean nothing, and it is apparent. My heart is broken.

Post ID: @yldq+13ovVxWZ- while you’re right about this forum being here to help support and inform the employee and not for slander and humor- I would be careful calling these “rumors” when they are evidently true based off of MANY signs and meetings. Would like to know why so many of our leaders traveled overseas recently? Or why our VP is gone....
