Hi, Did anybody hear they are starting to add on some Sales Floor supervisor departments
so they would have 3 departments instead of 2?

What—did you think they would cut market or regional staff?? If they did that, think about it—who else would there be to attach themselves like suction cups to the market directors and RVP’s that need someone to go get their morning coffee, donuts, and tell them how great they are every day? We can’t have that!

More with less. Just another effort to tighten the screws on payroll and purge what the company thinks are nonessential personnel.

likely theyll be forced to hire those new people from within. outside highers tend to cost more than bumping someone from a different position internally. this is what happened when they added a couple DS spots when they changed titles from service/support managers. they just filled them internally.
and then you watch....theyll either not fill those peoples positions or will take their sweet time doing so! marv has a clear gameplan to bring hiring to a halt at times–last summer– and always to keep it moving slow. open positions are payroll that wont get spent!
and to clarify when i say they lost an asm i dont mean laid off...i just meant they had X number and now are losing that coverage from those ranks. also if theres a truly open asm position nearby the store that has the extra will be forced to direct that person to the other store. they made it just that much harder to get and keep a 4th asm....everything they do is to cut. efficiency be damned!
So why all the secrecy’s around the openings of the new DS positions? Is it because some stores are losing some? Are ASMs being demoted to DS?

My store, 24 million, has added no one. 24 what? step up to the plate!
Stores that are over headcount in ASMs didn’t “just lose them”. It’s a process of normal attrition so if someone leaves for some reason then they just don’t get replaced. I know this because I’m in one of those stores

tell me lies tell me sweet little lies. most stores have added. they did re-order how much a store has to make in order to get additional ASM's so stores actually just quietly lost an asm or those slated to get another one now wont.
Most stores have actually recently added 1, and in some cases 2, new supervisors.
