This is ridiculous and certainly not within the lines of Cummins core values

Just remember that Human Resources does not work for the employees. They work for the executives only. There have been many instances of executives, notice I never call them leaders, swearing, screaming, calling people names, and sending people out of meeting in tears. In the end the HR teams did nothing to those who needed to be dealt with. They would pretend to do investigations, reorganize their teams to remove those who actually cared and wanted to do the right thing, and in the end destroy others. This has been seen, reported, and documented in many locations for years, yet nothing is done. They pretend there is no way that employees reporting these issues will see any repercussions, yet it happens all the time.. Even when you supply them your documentation and share who witnessed the situations, nothing changes.. Cummins only displays its values in its news releases. In reality, it does not practice what they preach..
When, where, and how did this vp insult subordinates? I'm only asking because I dont see anything about it.
And that is why I said that sooner or later Cummins is going to get caught via video or audio or both in a scandal and it will out what they have been doing and such. Like that VP doing what he did with HR present, that only tells me that HR is doing it's job to protect the higher ups no matter what and/or are afraid of doing their job. Listen and listen carefully those hourly and exempt that are being sh– on and/or being used doing illegal/morally wrong stuff. Get evidence on them doing it, record video/audio. Hold onto or make copies of paperwork that showed that they (your boss or the group) was doing things illegal or immoral.
The only way you can fight them is fight them at their own game. You see they are just a handful (both vp and middle management) of people who are using their position to make you to do things and then say I didn't tell you to do this or that etc. etc.. They play dirty, you play dirty. All those handful of men and women are doing is using Cummins and taking as much money as they can from it at the expense of the lower ranking hourly and exempt.

Cummins core values are increased returns for investors anything else is simply talking points to displace any negative media.
For them to get rid of the high pay hourly and/or the hourly that have been there a long time ergo making more an hour I can't see them using our redone rank system that we have. Because for one it's not based on a number system anymore 40 on down. And if you as an hourly employee is not performing satisfactory then you get put on a IDP (individual development plan) of sort and in that plan it writes out what you have to do to become satisfactory. It's really hard for them to be vague about what is required of you especially if they have meetings every other months checking your progress with HR there.
The only way I see them getting rid of the higher pay hourly and also the ones that have been there longer is to offer retirement packages like the did the DWU years ago (especially in SEP). There are alot of hourly that are at or a few years from retirement anyway. If they give them something good aka benefits with health then it would open up alot of those positions to be gotten rid of at worst or opened up for workers with less pay hourly at best. Because if they try to just layoff from the get go it won't be able to get at the higher seniority aka making more money hourly and it would work to get at the lower pay hourly.
If you are "old school" hourly making decent money.....you should be worried. This RIF is all about cutting the employees (Exempt & hourly) that make above average money.
If I were a salary OCU making a lot more than minimum wage.....I would be worried.
IF hourly were to get layoffs, I don't think it would be until contact is voted for in April. They always dangle the big carrot of larger wage increases for the less you make. Seems to be incentive to get more yes votes. Then they can turn around and lay a ton of lower seniority ppl off and save on the wages.
I have feeling that they are going to want to cut hourly, they where waiting until this year to do it and it will be over alot of depts. in the US.

Cummins puts zero value on experience. It's all about replacing experienced higher paid employees with younger people who they can pay less. They do it every 3-4 years. Very few people actually retire from Cummins- you are either pushed out with a retirement package(nothing more than a severance package) or you're RIF'd at some point. My advice is to use Cummins for everything you can- education reimbursement and experience and move on once you hit 10 years. No reason to feel any loyalty toward them- they have zero loyalty to their employees- it's just maximize profits and get a bigger bonus for senior leadership. Don't believe some illusion that it won't happen to you- it's just a matter of time.
But, but, but.. the company has multiple media releases about all the awards tied to their supposed core values.. All while knowing they were going to be cutting professional headcounts.. They also knew very well they are going to be cutting non-exempt headcount, but also do not want to openly acknowledge that either.. Any US based employees should do some research in regards to Ignacio Garcia's comments in late Oct 2019 as reported by Mexico News daily.. The comments that state US based demand for the filtration productions will also be transitioned to Mexico. What is really interesting is the comment that it is widely known that Mexico is more productive than their neighbors to the North.. He is also tying the moves directly back to the USCMCA.. Why hasn't US based management stated this publicly yet? So much for open and honest interactions with employees.. So much for integrity and ethics.. Welcome to Cummins..
