Has anyone gotten let go in shoe support 8500. I have worked at macys for 10 years in shoe support and today the told me my job has been eliminated that was truck and signing now who is going to do that

Seems to be happening for all Macy's. Our New England store cut the shoe support as well. The MTM team use to do that job before so I'm not surprised that happened. So far they have announced the loss of our shoe support which is 2 people & another 6 sales associate. A mandatory conference call is scheduled for Feb. 5th. I'm which we could have more things happening.

Umm....get shoes? Bet you are going open sell. No one needed to "get shoes" anymore. DSW, anyone? Stock goes from the case right to the floor, nearly no backstock to worry with. No more commission, just another selling department. We hvlave been open sell for 2 1/2 years at my store. Better sales too.
Yes laid off. given notice JAN 22nd, last day FEB 8th. I took severance packet, they wanted me to transfer to RTW(FLEX) and i declined. My reasoning is, no guaranteed hours with FLEX. it's sad to see macys go down this path, i was fortunate for the job and now will have to look elsewhere.
That’s correct. They are cutting all 8500 positions and the MTM and team have to pick up the workload. Our store also cut sales people in shoes too.

They let go of our shoe support. It will now fall on the MTM and her team to take care of it.
I work in shoes also. Why did they lay you off ? How did they tell you. I’m expecting the same.
