Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Called Off

At 7:23 am my store manager called to tell me not to come to work today as they were cutting hours. I was to work 9 to 6 today. Makes perfect sense to me, no one in the department until 5 when the closer gets there; no one to do the DHSR, IRPs, put away the freight or help customers.

Oh and we’re having a town hall meeting today. I figure that’s the real reason why I was called, he doesn’t want to hear what I have to say.

this Is why I never answer the phone when I see it’s from lowes. Play dumb and just follow the schedule that is originally created when you print it out.

Don’t worry you’ll probably be blamed for not doing today’s work. At least that’s how the mo–nic managers used to be at my store before I quit.

It doesn’t matter that you didn’t work, WHY wasn’t it done? Because you called and told me not to come in. You’re just making excuses. Okay, I agree here’s my resignation. Wait, why did you quit? Because in less than 1 hr of looking for a new job, I got 3 job offers that pay more and are mon- fri.

Actually by most state laws you must be given a 72 hour notice before your schedule can be changed. Less the 72 hours would have to be voluntary.
