What is facing the Boeing Company here in Seattle is deadly serious for them and indirectly so for Nordstrom. They just borrowed $12B from a consortium of a dozen banks ... desperate to make payroll. Everything, certainly for the Commercial Airplanes division, is riding on a 56-year old jet that has been hacked with oversized engines that make it aerodynamically unstable. Boeing is doomed – Chapter 11 BK at the very least, wiping out the CA division, spinning off the still-profitable military bits into new forms.
This will throw the Puget Sound region into a deep depression. From the 2017 economic impact report, "Boeing is a key driver behind the 242,800 jobs in Washington supported by aerospace".
The Amazon kids two blocks away don't shop the FLS. And the startups and dumb techs are already being culled from San Francisco on north.
