Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

How many people work at Bed Bath and Beyond?

I am interested in the overall number of employees. Also, please share if you know how many people work at Union?

59k? That's completely false. Theres only 1100 locations. That makes no sense.

I can't tell you how many times they caught one associate in the stockroom on his cellphone and written up for it. But, I help the customers and I am the one they let go. That other associate is still there, one day a week and still hangs out in the stockroom on his cell, according to the other associates that are there... 2 more workers were let go this past week for doing there job. way to go 247. Again, let go of the good ones and keep the bad ones!

Employed or actually work? Because looking at a lot of these stores I'd say not many actually work there. SMH

I found locally some other retailers that take the BBB coupons. Not far from home, better prices, plus perks for shopping it there establishments. closing down the local BBB's has caused me to go elsewhere. Sorry you lost a whole bunch of customers in the area. Most people don't like to waste gas for the longer distances just to save 20% or $5 when other companies will honor the coupons for the same or similar products. When you go to other companies you just have to ask if they take BBB coupons.

Our bee and willow sells great, especially the newest stuff. The candles go great, the bee and willow bedding does great. The newer window programs sell great. I’m not in a high volume store so the fact I notice it can’t be nothing. We have shopping cars in our vestibule. The clean look is more on par with other retailers of being open and clean.

Bee and Willow merchandise didn't sell well when it first came in until it all went clearance. As for new window treatments, nothing spectacular that caught me eye, MYOP's never looks good, the company that makes them need to put a UPC on the inside label. The toss pillows need a lot of loving care, the room is a nightmare. As for bedding, The best deals are the bed in a bag, just need someone to maintain it. The new look having the vestibule empty seems strange to me, it was always filled with door mats and some seasonal. It looks so bare

I’m sorry what stores do you work in? The product has been changing SO much even in non next gen stores.
New bee and willow in most rooms
All new merchandising in home accents, frames, candles (all new bee and willow candles), new bedding, new window treatments, new toss pillows, and new MYOP. If you don’t notice the new in your store then you’re not doing a great job or you are not observant. Every day I hear a customer compliment the new merchandise we are getting. I think some of you need to open your eyes.

Just stop it... I am a former employee. It was a good company to work for. And, because of poor decisions by upper management, area management, district management, store management, and especially senior management - yes the stores have suffered, yes those (like me) who continue to suffer, yes the merchandise hasn't changed to the customers satisfaction, yes that the newer changes that corporate has made do not seem ideal. The company will continue to remain a contingent with other retailers until they feel it is time to give up. Stores will continue to close, managers and associates will continue to be let go or shuffled around, get used to it!

We are not terrible people, we are people that BBB destroyed in 8-2017. Our families suffered and are still suffering. We are the people that gave everything to BBB and treated terrible, the terrible people are the remaining mgmt. S— it up and quit crying, BBB is going to do the same thing to you! You and your families are no better than ours.

I really can’t imagine who the horrible people are that are wishing for the company to close and for 65,000 people to lose their jobs. THAT IS JUST SO LOW.

STOP. Let’s be human. It’s a different company than it was and it’s transforming before our eyes. Just change with it.

I liked working for BBB. I thought that I would retiring from this company within the next 12 years, I only wish that all who are able to stay can accumulate as much funds as possible. Unfortunately, I was unable to get a 401k just medical benefits as a full timer with the minimal paycheck just paying bills paycheck to paycheck. At my age, it has become harder to find other employment. Other retailers are hiring, but minimum wage, part time, no benefits. It is now time for me to join the homeless veterans. good luck to all.

The 4300 does NOT include being coded out of Union NJ (this DOES HAVE A STORE number FYI). The district staff is tougher to track because they are coded under various cost locations (like Mid Atlantic cost center DM, or mid alantic cost center AMM all have a store number for cost purposes that do not count as union NJ. I would say there are about 200 DMs nation wide, and maybe 30 AMs, and then 20 regional managers.

4300 are also district, regional and other positions that don’t work out of corporate but are coded as corporate payroll.

Which means that when people are hoping the doors shut they hope that 59K+ plus lose their jobs.

Let that sink in. They would be happy to see 59K+ out of jobs.

People need to let go of their anger issues.

Don't get me wrong, I was very upset when the Dept. Managers where let go and know it s—ed big time. I wish they were still in our store and believe they were needed and still are!

There are around 4,300 employees that are coded as being paid out of Union NJ, and 59,000 in other locations.
