It was a sad day, We had just found out we were safe. The next thin g we know we watch people are being called to the office with years of experience and out the door they go. No warning...… People who were planning to retire down the road are now looking for jobs. The sad part is some of these people are in their 50's and 60's. Who is going to hire them. Cummins ruin peoples plans. So sad to see them go.
I worked at Cummins Sales and Service in Hubbard Ohio as a Utility Worker .Yesterday I was terminated as a result of business conditions 02/13/2020 with no warning.
Springfield MA closed today, Williamsport and Tunkhannock PA later this week. Workforce reduction at most larger east coast branches including cuts at Rittenhouse to come this week as well as Kearny and Glen Burnie. They just laid off around 8 at CPW today (Monday).
When it comes to hourly reductions, such as the technicians at the distributors, you will not know until it happens. Most are not tied to contracts and are at will employees that can be terminated right away.. These are not layoffs, they are terminations. Once you are let go, you cannot come back... While there is no guarantee they will let you go, take notes from what is happening around the company and has happened for the past few decades.. Nobody has been safe and nobody will be safe.. Always keep your resume updated and always looking for opportunities.. You must take care of yourself, because the company is in business for one reason. To make money.. Everything else is they say is just fluff, better known as marketing..
Are any technicians at the distributors being let go. We actually turn profit so im curious if this is legitimately a headcount reduction for the sake of stakeholder appeasement or is it to actually trimming those areas that dont turn profit
Any news on where/who/how many layoffs this week so far?
Any updates?
Are you saying 680 CSSNA employees in the East region will be cut? That is massive. There can’t be that many redundancies and duplications. Is Cummins closing branches? Why so many?
680 in the east region alone
Cummins Sales and Service North America
What is CSSNA
Will all be concluded by February 14th. Regions are going away and overlapping jobs will be cut. Read the emails.
Big changes are coming, the business will look different by summer.
Your saying that they will be laying off hourly later on in the year or early in the year? Also since these are layoffs instead of firings by the exempt, are they going to use what Team Based system ranking score to layoff the hourly who are doing this or will they just go by dept. to dept. and have t hem get rid of however they want from lower seniority?
Does anyone have any idea how many more?
