Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

How does someone with 9% approval expect to run a company effectively?

First of all, UP definitely cares about what Glassdoor and Indeed say, because they keep spamming both sites with fake positive reviews (interestingly, Glassdoor has quietly taken some of the more obvious ones down).

Hopefully UP and the person with the 9% employee approval rating understand that they can only expect to effectively run a company where 91% of employees hate the leadership and 83% wouldn't refer their worst enemy to a job there for so long. It's already spilling over into operations, and it will get worse.

“Here’s the StraightUp truth. Our rating is only the lowest because we’re going through change. No other company in America is going through change.”

Dear executive, your rating is horrible because your ceo is horrible and your company is trash and treats people like trash. The rating given is fair based on the performance. It’s biased toward poor reviews because it’s a poor place to work with an unstable future Sometimes correlation does equal causation. Amazing isn’t it?

Also quit begging people to fill out positive reviews in Omaha it’s embarrassing.

Because they’re not going through major structural change and cuts.

If Glassdoor is biased as you say, why do other companies and CEO’s have good ratings?

Google, Southwest Airlines, Facebook, Cummins, Trader Joe’s, John Deere and 100’s of others.

They know Glassdoor is exceptionally biased and driven by those most affected by the changes. Those that are content or safe in their jobs aren’t the ones that go to Glassdoor. It’s a biased measure of reality and so it’s not given the weight that you give it. The next big corporation that makes major structural change and cuts will be the next worst run company in America and their CEO will be the worst in history. That’s how it works. That’s why it’s given so little attention by corporations and boards.

I don’t think he’s trying to run the company effectively. Just making cuts and milking the cash cow. He’ll be into politics soon. And he’ll lose. Probably have the same poll numbers as his approval rating at UP

Wish they would hurry up and cash out. At this point I am too old, worn out, stressed, and broken down to continue this pace much longer. Do you really “have the courage to care”?

They need to get a non Operating CEO. Remember JimYoung? Jack Koraleski? We did our best when we had a leader with human skills and not some jackhole from Operating that gets off on intimidation and unprofessionalism.

We wish they (the board of directors) would listen to the real reviews and the employees and not the lies being put out by the person with the 9% approval rating and his hired hands that keep pushing false reviews to bump him back up to 10%. But that’s not going to happen as long as he keep padding their pockets with money as they sell off their stocks. Until someone with morals and a customers and employees first over stockholders mentality takes charge nothing will change and this place will become one of the biggest toxic cesspools to work for the foreseeable future I hope they like their number one worst place to work title cause it’s not going anywhere soon or likely to be topped for that matter and their ratings on Glassdoor and Indeed will stay where they are as well.
