I was laid off this year in January. After almost 20 years. We all had no clue. We was working on phones and told to get off for meeting. Did a roll call and advise NOT to get back on phones. Someone asked how many, he said 75 in our Department. From what we saw overall over 2000 lost their jobs that day.
My manager told me the same thing. Minimal staffing for about 60 days is coming.
current employee for 20 years. yesterday my manager leaked to me that they were asked to provide detailed report of all department seniority and minimum staffing requirements.
I believe this is true. I work at the counter and I have been saying for the past few months it is not making sense that we are sending our cars to other locations on our busiest day’s only to give away upgrades. Two weeks ago I told my coworker I have seen this in brick and mortar stores prior to bankruptcy. I was researching their financials tonight trying to decide if I should use my vacation before I lose it and found this. Decision made.
All I will say is it's all true. Sorry people, but layoffs are coming.
This is coming. Be prepared. Shave your unnecessary spendings. Start updating your resume. Negotiate a better severance package. Good luck to everyone.
You can’t say you were not warned. I was laid off a year ago and was lucky to quickly find a great job. I don’t miss that toxic company, it was by far the worst company I’ve ever worked at. Take your severance and best of luck. It will be hard at first but you will be better off in the long run!
Been with the company for 19 years (vsa) yes I believe this!
