Thread regarding Hy-Vee layoffs

If you aren't looking for a new job already...

  • you are naive and possibly stupid. Whether the company is purchased or going under, everyone should be getting their resumes together and everyone should be looking for new jobs NOW. Don't wait to be let go or demoted because 2 weeks of severance isn't going to feed your family and pay your mortgage. The company isn't loyal and so you should let go of any illusions of loyalty. Look out for number one.

I foresaw this happening a long time ago and made plans to leave (degree). I didn’t get out In time. People need to be wise and leave pronto.

Leave on your on terms. Why fight for a company that won’t fight for the employees. They treat them like taking out the trash. Why would I stick around and try to build a career now.

Agreed. Get out while you can. People like me were just demoted to part time and not given severance. My part time wage has to cover my cobra now as well. My bills can’t get paid.
