Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Is it true layoffs have started already?

Somebody said there were already some layoffs in San Ramon, is this true? And if it is, how long before the rest of us are affected?

Agree -fake news. San Ramonis not really in scope for cuts beyond pgpa.

Refineries started the “business unit” concept 40 years ago (ask me how I know). Employee value there is more focused on technical ability, geography, and individual capability. Lest y’all forget....Chevron is a California Corporation. Solomon, McKenzie, BCG, ROM....its the oil biz. Nut Up.

Lower oil price typically equals higher refining margins.

Jobs at refineries are the safest ones at Chevron. Refining makes a lot of money when crude oil is cheapest.

For cause layoffs will come first, then the d–g testing will start.

I think downstream refineries are a better place to be during this time based on price of oil

Any idea of how the refineries might be affected? I just joined chevron in January.....I know everyone says “it’s okay to get laid off you’ll land on your feet” but I’m a complete nervous wreck.

Fake news, but would not be surprising to see transformation timelines accelerated via more consultants working overtime.
