Evidently no one running Bed Bath & Beyond. With the entire Customer Service and Loss Prevention Field Group let go as part of the recent layoffs, there is no left to make sure customers remain the priority, they find what they are looking for, and sold items that match their needs. As far as thieves, Bed Bath remains a welcome target to steal what you want and sell it elsewhere.
True customers beware....your in store experience will continue to worsen and the price of items will increase to offset declining margins do to theft.

Just fill the floor, price it, move to the next project.
I don’t understand how in the past we had so many cs positions and they were all over us if there was a complaint. Poof. Now they are all gone and we the sm have to deal with the customer. Seems like we had a lot of positions that we really didn’t need.
Is there anybody left in the stores to handle customer service? Most of the associates are hiding in the stockrooms, just leaves the cashiers, the managers are hiding in the office on the computers or cell phones. The morning huddles have no point anymore.
Watching the news and the spread of the virus, especially in those areas that are being hit hard, the businesses are laying off people or closing down for the duration, or closing for good.
This subject has been brought up many times. Customer service in retail is now a myth, non existent, and it's been going away for years in small segments. Now, if customers were to come back to the brick and mortar, customer service might come back as well. Once this pandemic is over, we need to see which retailers will have survived.
My SM doesn’t greet anyone and thinks we need to be a self service store. And our new DS is following their lead and our store trainer is losing her mind.
