It’s because their network is not equipped to handle all of the employees working remotely. They did a stress test last night that failed miserably. Really makes you want to trade on their platform, huh?

I am so sorry to hear that! Thank you.for everything that you are doing. Please stay safe and I hope that your staff stays safe as well. The problem is that people can have no symptoms and still be spreading the virus. And as a result families are at risk, hence why CDC is asking everyone to follow social distancing!
I can confirm that Charles Schwab call center case. The person, who is from mainland China, was sent home. A cleaning crew was dispatched to disinfect the area surrounding him. Out of an abundance of caution, the staff sitting around him were also sent home. However, the call center continued to operate. You have understand that the call center staff is totally overwhelmed with client calls at this time, where the average wait time if up to 45 minutes during peak. We have no choice but to continue to serve the clients, putting our own health at risk. This is the Schwab mantra. I'm a mid level manager, MD.
This has nothing to do with layoffs....
According to other social media, there were two or three cases in Charles Schwab and Fidelity Call Centers in Westlake, Texas. No facilities were closed, some areas were sanitized. I couldn’t find any official statements about it, can anyone confirm this?
