Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

lowes updated temp. leave policy for the virus

im usually completely critical of what corporate does, and obviously theyre all receiving public and government pressure to "do the right thing". But i am happy to read that this wont be a time where they try to screw us over. if you have the virus you stay home, get better, get paid. high risk of eventually getting it....14 paid days..of course if you do then get it the other policy then kicks in....and if youre just in total fear....you can take your own paid time off for 14 days. first two tiers dont affect bonus or paid time off.

this is actually good news as lowes does have a previous policy updated in 2019 thats not anywhere near as generous.

only question left to be answered is if a deal was struck with the federal govt. to be reimbursed for all of this.

PSE guy: we are supposed to feel bad you are losing out on your commission for 2 weeks while still collecting on your $40,000/ yr base salary? Yea that's a shame bud. My heart bleeds for you.

PSE on a mostly commissioned pay basis. So if I take two weeks to care for my kids while their school is closed means I take a 70% pay cut?
This is stupid. It’s just a flu virus. Total bs. The Democratic Party hopes this will bring trump down. It’s all political, useless drama.

It's useless because there aren't nearly enough tests. If you have what could be coronavirus and could be the flu you will be made to come back to work or be terminated. It's not worth the paper it's printed on. And it was an email.

i would hope that if you can prove documentation then youd be covered. child was probably a poor choice of words — id hope they meant legal dependent.

I'm already having a question that the HR number listed isn't sure does not want to answer.
Ellisons email indicates if you are caretaker for a child exposed to the virus you will be covered for excused absence with time off with pay.
What about registered caretaker for other disabled family I.e. parents or siblings with chronic conditions requiring care such as parent of autistic child or parent w chronic diseases.

I called the hr number today and was not confident of the response. After being transferred three times to different phone operators was told "I think you will be covered but I'm not sure..."

Does anyone have any ideas

chart - low/no risk

essentially things like showing you have underlying health concerns and fear this virus could knock you out.

or if you can show documentation that the virus was in the same place you were – IE you went to a bball game and saw rudy gobert playing – confirmed case — you though had zero interaction with the nba player

hence i state the the "time off over fear" every policy i have read so far from places like walmart or HD include a section like this. but in every case the no/ low risk section always states you either wont be paid or will have to take it from your own benefit pot.

I read the statement and it says nothing about time off over fears of the virus.
