Today is the mass FT meeting for employees. Sad they don't care about PT and excluded them from this. You would think employee owned ALL would be involved to hear what is happening.
Did you have your meeting?
What was discussed?

I agree, buyers need to stop pushing c-ap that vendors WANT to sell and at an inflated price to boot. Buyers should be out there finding deals and twisting arms and making deals to get our prices down as low as they can and getting in product WE want to sell. Why we’re more worried about getting that corporate sales bonus for fulfilling some ridiculous vendor agreement instead of busting a– for the stores is beyond me. Put me in that office, and I’ll show them how to bring in good deals and make a profit. So tired of busting my a– to get a sales increase and get target gross IN SPITE of the corporate buy programs........
This has been very poorly handled from the start. But Honestly what company is gonna let a store lose $100s of thousands of dollars year after year and not try and make some sort of changes?
Getting back to the basics is what Hy-Vee needs to do!
Get rid of supplier entitlement
Get rid of commissary
Get rid of the force shipments
Get rid of the mandatory displays at no profit
Wanna sell more stuff at a higher profit? Put a better product out. This isn’t rocket science
Let the stores take care of there customers, sell them what they actually want.
The people at the office need to be working every supplier for better pricing. You think Wal-Mart and Costco roll over and say ahh shucks I guess we will take your overpriced product and try and sell it at our stores? No they negotiate a better price.
Train your people in the stores! When I started doing this department heads were knowledgeable, now I see guys setting on there asses at a computer all day! Get out there earn your paycheck, grow your business and your brand!
We were told everthing is ok and lay offs are done.
So what was the meeting about? Saw a post where they were getting rid of all FT except managers and another post just about bonus
Our FT meeting is today at 5:30 at dav 3, yeah. Night stocker for 16yrs, produce for 7 yrs. I'm sure I'm in their cross hairs for getting cut. I wonder if they take u aside and tell u whats gonna happen to you?
They talked about 10% bonus at our meeting today. Are store hasn’t earned a bonus in the last 22 years. I have work at this store that long. They said cuts are done for now. What they really mean is if we don’t get a 10% bonus stores will start cutting again. I’m leaving on my on terms. Not going to wait and see if I have a job 6 months from now. I would recommend the same for everyone that can leave to do so asap
Basically the meeting was about moving on. The market grills that are not expresses will become wall burgers. The meeting will be different store to store. Fullfillment centers will become storage areas for floral delivery, and AOL will be done in-store again, with a third party doing deliveries . They are shooting for a 10% bonus in our market. They said they are done with lay-offs for now
Not sure how they could anyway since they dumped the majority of their full timers— I know since I was one of them. Over 30 years with Hy-Vee flushed down the toilet— was offered a part time stocking position which I had to turn down as it wouldn’t pay my families bills. Now scrambling to find work and praying no one gets sick!
There isn't a meeting at my store so I'm not sure what everyone keeps talking about. Please share what was said at your meeting so we all know what to expect, please!
