David Solomon committed yesterday morning on CNBC not to lay off anyone that is part of the "GS Family" (FTE, Security Guards, etc) for the next 3 months.

They already did a few in my office in mid March. I don’t work in NY/NJ.

Via forbes, it sounds like GS is not moving forward with large scale layoffs in the immediate future.

I work in HCM for GS. May 1 is not the exact date - we never fire on Friday’s - but will be early May. Will be more than the bottom 5%.

So, rumor is that a major tranche of layoffs will come on or by May 1, 2020. Will be most divisions. A lot of recent layoffs have May 1 as their last day. Would be interested to know if others have heard anything.
