The greed hit the Perry, Iowa store today. Some management told to either accept part time or firing; big secret full timer only MANDATORY meeting Monday; the bookkeeper told to make a full list of any employees who had vacation time or other paid time still coming. Nothing but greed.

Pharmacies still make money. Bottom line departments thay make legitimate money will still have mgrs and FT staff. lets face it healthmarkets is grocery. theyre gone. frozen dairy is grocery. theyre gone.
dieticians did not get notice because 25 or 50 olis were not eliminated from a single store to trigger a true layoff as defined by the WARN act law. its very bad to see it.
When will the FT pharmacists be gone? We have 2 and they make a ton of cash. When will floral staff be gone and we go cash and carry? Why do we need HR at each store if there is no FT employees. Why RPM at each store, just fix the pricing at the corp level. Bakery, why FT there? Catering, why keep that deal. The questions go on and on. How could we be smiley in the aisles. Our Hy-Vee family is being destroyed.
All in-store dietitians were let go without any notice this week. 150+ . They may have considered us "overhead" but we are human too, we have families too. Medical benefits, life ins gone immediately even though they are taking premiums out of our last paycheck. Why did the employees in the dark store in Omaha get 60 day notice? It hit the media yesterday. Thought I saw acquisition coming, but now?? Chapter 11?
Store director told me that by years end we will have less than 35 full timers employees. Right now we have 92 or at least did on Monday.
Sorry Perry. Department heads losing it also. 24 years of service and they cut my salary by 20k. Think of yourself and your family. You are nothing more than $$$ to them

Our department manager told us Hy-Vee was doing away with all full-time positions. Only full time will be managers. Employees will all be offered part time with no vacation or flex. Which makes sense since they are pushing us to use our vacation now
