Profit, Profit, Profit.......that’s all I hear from State Farm execs, we are a mutual insurance company, I don’t know why they are concerned about Profit.........it makes me think about that TV show from the 90’s called Profit, which an exec whose last name is Profit is about achieving Profit at all costs, it makes me think what’s going one here.

There are some bad things happening, but profit is not one. If people here looked beyond their own noses they’d see the irony of praising Buffet for GEICO’s practice of running on “float” while blasting State Farm for essentially doing the same thing. State Farm doesn’t usually make money on insurance. It makes money on the money it has put away in the past.
And the way things are going with natural disasters, those reserves are going to be needed in a big way.
How is a company supposed to run if you don't have any Money to pay your employees and run the operation?
