If you are a Halliburton worker, start looking for a job now. Company might decide to fire you on some pretext rather than give you a severance package.

Sorry for the bad news but just confirmed layoffs will have to be made again. The company is trying to mitigate the current situation damage and got to protect investors by cutting more sooner than expected. My advice to you the employees isn't even to work harder and/or keep your head down for HAL to keep you. Tightening your current expenses, pump money into your savings in case you get layed off. The fastest way to offset deep losses is to layoff people, this time it won't matter if you are an overachiever. Look and see if you can find another job as plan B.

Definitely layoffs. Our customers simply can't make money driling and completing wells at 45 bucks for oil and $1.75 for gas. They'll just shut down till this blows over. Meanwhile we get shafted.
