Thread regarding Sungard Availability Services layoffs

They have no intention of having long term employees anymore ... hence why they got rid of the milestone awards (5 , 10, 15, 20)

"One of your confident Leaders"... Tell us about the retention bonus you are about to get ... or the golden parachute at the end 6+ months of salary or more.
The average worker will be lucky to get the 1 week per year at the end once you clowns run this into the ground full speed .

Easy to be sunny and positive when there is nothing to worry about at the end of the day. The majority of us look over our shoulder daily waiting for the CUT.

Show us we will be here next year or 5 years from now. Something other then the "no one knows what is going on", selling assets as fast as possible until the there is nothing left.

"Finally thinking". Haha, how laughable. Only now the company is "finally" thinking how to impact customers? A clinically sane LT would be tackling that from the get-go. But, yeah man, things are looking up big time. Customers leaving consistently. No annual merit increases. And eliminating matching 401ks is on the table. It’s the toilet bowl circling the drain. All that's left to do is for you to stick your face into that toilet bowl. Then you'll truly feel the glory of your own BS and the BS of this LT. Enjoy, pal!

OPG is laughable. Sungard AS is history. Customers are leaving every month. Constant layoffs. Not exactly the signs of a healthy company. I'm glad I accepted an offer from a better company.

@2xyc... your post explains exactly how SGAS got into this position. Customer cancellations up, funnel down... you call these Metrics lagging indicators..?? Wow...

You are fooled why don't you get out from behind your desk get down to the real areas where the data centers are look at the people look at the staffing not enough people to do any of the jobs it's ridiculous customers leaving like crazy customer complaints at an all-time high recoveries a mess you my friend are living in a dream world us in the front lines know what's going on wake up

@2xyc Where are the products that customers want to buy? Where are job posting to hire on-shore resources to support the customers? I blinked a few times today, maybe I missed seeing these things that would tell me we aren't just giving lip service to this customer first idea.

Nope Sorry.... I agree with the @2oag. There is definitely a sense of momentum and positivism for the future of SGAS.

For those looking for a specific metric, your looking in the wrong place. A metric would be a lagging indication in the context of where we are in the journey. Metrics will validate the momentum in Q3-Q4 time frame.

Here is what I am looking at:

• We are finally thinking of how our actions will impact a customer prior to making decisions and then acting on whats best for the client.
• We have a solution road map that fills a new niche in the marketplace rather then just more of the same.
• We are re-tooling our customer facing resources with the intent to optimize overall customer experience.

The future is ours!!

I am not a pessimist but it is not getting better the numbers arr bad, as you can see from no word on rasies and 401k contributions. It's is worse then you know , OPG is trying to help but false hope is never good. The facts will show it actions speak volumes. I see no change

Any metric that you can sight the shows things are getting better...?? I didn’t think so...

The sheep are those that follow these blindly negative posts. Most of these posts are written by people no longer with SGAS trying to bring others down for what reason I have no clue.

Stay positive OPG.... Do you and do it your way. I walk the halls here and I see the progress we are making.

Yes I wish we had more sheep too. It's ok to be positive when they sho me something positive, not a pep talk like a highschool football team 3 more customers left the data center today NO new customers!!!!

I applaud OPG’s enthusiasm, but it doesn’t change the fact that SGAS owners have always sold 100% of their acquired companies assets to recoup their investment. We all know how this will end....get out now on your own terms...

Read this 10 times and realized it lacks any substance or details, just like the leadership message.

Leadership is dumping all they have in a new cloud product called Hyperconvergent Cloud with Dell. What is our angle on this? why would a single customer pick Sungard over the other companies who offer a managed Hyperconverged cloud, including DELL!!!???? The only way some should pick us is because we are undercutting the industry on price, and we have never done that. I hope they know something we don't, but I don't get it at all. But doesn't this sound like the hype around HPC and AWS a few years ago? Both never sold and appears to be dying out.

I enjoy getting paid so I hope something positive comes of this, but I don't see the vision on what sets Sungard apart in these fields when there are other bigger players with significantly better track records.
