Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Great lay-off LP so stores have no defense

Great idea to lay off the people that protect our stores from theft. People that through hard work worked their way to that position and then lay them off. Leaving the stores without a valuable resource to deter theft. Just so you can make your quarterly numbers look better

LP at BBB = nada. Employees steal..no problem. External theft-no problem. Don’t stop, chase, ask questions or you’ll be fired. LP at BBB is a joke. Straight up. Sorry you lost your job btw.

Lp would sit back wait for another employee to find an employee stealing. Wait for it to be reported and then swoop in and take credit for the other employee catching them. They care only about catching other employees stealing not the customers. They can all go back to kohl’s for all I care. Over paid bums all of them

1003 was always getting hit by the Russian gang, if it wasn’t bolted down or up top items of real value were out the door. Those crooks are gonna have a field day now!

Our LP refused to do anything about an employee who was stealing stuff almost every day, and not even trying to conceal things. Their words: “he’s a veteran.”

I've been out 8 months, the retail job market is very though right now. No full time available. Unemployment has ran out. As for bbb. Alot of this nonsense most probably could have been avoided if only someone in corporate would listen to the associated who deal with the customers on a daily basis. We have ideas that could help, all you have to do is ask.

Lp at bbb didn’t really have any real impact on store shrink especially external. Yeah they caught the occasional return fraud internal but apart from that, all they really ever did was drop into the store... complain about eas audits and logging the eas towers.... 0 impact whatsoever

Stores can monitor their own LP issues – if they just follow the guidelines. Check reports, address those that show up on the reports. Do their bag checks. When drawers are short, start tracking common cashiers. It's all normal stuff that every other manager in retail had to do on their own. LP was good for the internal investigations, and they knew what was going on a lot of the time. But I do think that most of them would tell you that if Managers did their jobs, they would never have had a job.

How about Corporate LP wth do they do anyway? The whole LP level has been a bloated bunch of do nothings for so so long. When they come to your store what do they do? NOTHING. Sit in office. Pour over videos for Hours. Total waste.

If you want to steal all you have to do is go in at opening when the huddle is going on and fill your coat up with drapes or whatever. Just be sure to remove the tagger lock or sensor tags

Security does not seem to be all that important to them. They also laid off the most of the IT security team. All this company needs to be is hacked and then they're done I'm canceling my account which has my credit card stored.

Lol, I worked for the company for 5 years and I never once met our LP person. Not once. I was full time for 4.5 of those years. They were useless anyway.

They will probably just add it to the list of things for one of the “supervisors” in the stores to do. And pay then slave wages to do it along with running a store with no staff.
