While I appreciate any bonus it feels to me as if 55% VCP funding in a year where we did more to advance this company shows me the year of the people was totally false. Isnt 55% the lowest level of funding ever?

They already said 2020 is going to be no VCP, so why try so hard this year?
So, the company as a whole underperformed, missed financial goals, missed offload goals, lost Jet, didnt win new deals, and the stock price is hammered, and VCP funding is tied to company performance overall. Pretty simple. Nothing to do with "year of people", just how it works. Supposed to be we succeed or fail together, at least on above the line bonus. Some years good, some years bad. 55% is better than what was rumored and better than my last company.
actually, id prefer the layoffs and id prefer if they did it en mass and quickly.
Its just stupid to have the constant threat.
Could be, however the whole business goes down recently. I'd prefer to get smaller vcp and delay the merit instead of getting laid off by the end of the year. The economists are expecting the 2nd 2008 crisis - 100% vcp in face of crisis won't happen..
