More layoffs Wednesday July 29th. Head of HR fired today.
Yes its true. More than 30 people of all levels across multiple depts. Heard about layoffs in special markets, digital, scheduling, rights & clearances, photo, program marketing, promotions, HR, acquisitions and creative. SVPs of digital, print creative and video creative also were let go earlier this week. Lots of good people. Very sad.

viacbs is close to 30k employees with contractors. a dozen people is not that much.
BUT...
Showtime is not that big, many of us know each other - so losing even one person is not good

Heard 1 rumor that some one was getting 2 years severance
About 30 were axed from Showtime. Svp, vp and director level. a few coordinators and managers. They have until Friday. Heard 1 rumor that some one was getting 2 years severance. That has not been confirmed.

That severance payout is incorrect, stop spreading false rumors
30 not 13 for Showtime.
13 people is not even a handful. ViacomCBS has 20000+ employees. We probably lose 13 people on a normal day.
On a side note I did hear of layoffs in operations for showtime but don’t have a complete #.

Can confirm. I’m aware of about 13 people that I knew across multiple departments. From director level to coordinator.
Someone asked about severance and I heard 3 months plus a week per year you’ve been here.

Yeah there were a handful of people laid off in multiple departments. Digital marketing, marketing, data/research, rights and clearances were some of them. Not whole teams. It was done within 2 hours or so in the afternoon. They were told they are here until Friday via HR calls.
Somber mood all day, obviously. Not much work was done, obviously.
Hearing people in digital and linear advertising/ad tech laid off at both CBS and Showtime.
CBS TV City huh? Interesting. There is a marketing department there still for sure which didn't transfer to Studio Center like the other departments years ago. Hardly any IT left at TV City so I'm surprised to hear they are letting go whoever is left.

Buckley was CMO and left on his own last year. SVP digital someone else.
There is a Showtime headquarters in West Hollywood on Santa Monica also.
A few hundred grand if not more and the door to your left.

True those who got laid off are not going to post here but they are not laying off 100% of staff. Those left hopefully can inform the rest of us.
I doubt anyone getting laid off today is going to have time or effort to post the fact they are getting laid off.
