I just came back after a hiatus. I was shocked how the growth 250 is in complete shambles. They cut all but a few managers and demoted one. Store manager is being moved but the crazy part is they are down to 3 lp guys and only one works all day by themselves. They also call out a lot. For a high theft store. I’m shocked they cut their hours. It’s like a skeleton crew now

Here's an idea for loss prevention-put private label goods-Charter Club, INC, Alfani, etc near the exits. Theft should go down because nobody wants to steal it let alone buy it!
The neighborhood stores are going to be closing w/in the next 3 years. They are among the 128 referenced by the company recently, though not by name yet. If they listed the ones closing over the next couple years nobody would even apply to work at any of them since few are interested in a job witn no future.
Buckle up Buttercup. In our region we got rid of the entire AP leadership and the only remaining leader is covering 80+ stores and has NO AP BACKGROUND. The number of grab and runs at our store is sky high and we only have one AP officer and the job is open. Our store manager is a woman and isn't even comfortable on the floor and spends most of her time in the office. She has someone from another store interviewing candidates because she doesn't know anything about AP. In the mean time, we just step back and let the thieves run out of our store with literal armloads of stuff every day.
We are a core door but not for long given the amount of merchandise simply walking out of our store. It's walking out since there is no need to run, the word is out that stealing at Macy's comes with almost no risk. The police were called the last time and they laughed when they heard that we don't have AP, shoplifting is clearly low on their list of priorities.
You are so right! I have a store manager who does that! She goes on and on about how happy she is that we're a neighborhood store and how great that is and that we're going to get off the list etc etc. But the insinuation is that our own lives are in danger if we don't act like we are 100% on board and enthusiastic about being on a sh– list.
Everyone, please pay close attention! If you have a store manager and his/her entourage, tells you if "we work real hard and keep the customer happy and do a good job" that your store is safe. Blah Blah Blah. Beware, it will be the one closing sooner rather than later.
The neighborhood store I was at, no longer has any lost prevention. Remember part of the 3 year plan is to close the low-tier stores, and keep only the Class A stores. Good luck to everyone!
