The new PMP has to be a HR joke. They have literally kept the worst part of the PMP, that we all hated and done away with the only objective part of it that worked. Does HR live on another planet? Do they not actual understand the business we work in, full of engineers. We live for objectivity. And they role out this hodgepodge of b—s—. As a team lead how am I supposed to dole out pay raises and bonuses to my team on what are subjective items to their actual jobs. IMO Total Renumeration has outsourced the raison d’être. If anything the ranks have now become more competitive. If I want the highest raise out of my group I need to become chummy chummy with my boss. Maybe I need to pick up hunting or golfing.

We once had a HR Sponsor visit the ABU who said in order to succeed in this company bring your best Oscar performance to work. It was by far the best summation of how the Company works. Used to see so many incompetent employees get promoted because they had the biggest s— hole game!
“Attend meetings as silent observers”? No, @4aeb. These people are there to instill fear and attend meetings as silent JUDGES. Make no mistake.
My entire team was mandated by our supervisor to attend 4 D&I events as part of our performance agreements.
The identity politics at work needs to stop. Forcing us into teams based on our race and s-x is dangerous.
We were also told that our site will be testing a program in which a D&I rep will attend meetings across the site as a silent observer. Who will then report out perceived micro aggressions perpetuated against others during the meeting. Letting these marxists regulate our speech and behaviors will lead to more silos and division. Hope you all enjoy these eggshells we have to walk on.

I used to work in HR and I have worked in HR departments elsewhere. Chevron HR is the worst. I have never seen so many unskilled, unexperienced and immature people. Its sad, its a dumping ground for the dumbest of the dumb. I have seen a HR Manager skip up the hall laughing about writing someone up. Sad. I am so glad I moved on from Chevron and the HR department..
“You need to be more diverse and inclusive“, but from the PMP it would seem you’re not expected to complete any work with impact on the bottom line. Much like HR itself. Go figure.

Remember everything according to the execs is what “we asked for.” I love how they say they won’t use a number to rate people, but I guess they are fooled by all the words that represent the three levels you can be rated, ultimately averaging to a single value. Duh.
When was a PMP useful ? No one reads it anyways
That’s precisely the intent of the new PMP design. It’s meant to move away from facts and objectivity to the sublime and subjectiveness. The PMP is no longer a useful tool to anyone and it now blurs the achievements of the productive employee from the average one. By rendering the PMP a useless tool, which was previously designed to measure the employee’s track record and successes, the company can no longer be held to task by way of the PMP for their failed practice of implementing forced inclusion and diversity over sensible management of its more productive workforce. This is only another example that is leading to the chaos in the company and the blind promotion of the wrong people in the organization.
