As of this year Walmart is cutting pay of department mangers by 10%, and making a new title new title as Academy trainer (same job more responsibility less pay. With this change they also move them to an A B level which cut them out of the better bonus structure. So say that the average Walmart associate will lose on average $3500.00/ $4500.00 a year .

Basically anyone that works for Walmart is always gonna be doin someone else’s job!…PERIOD!!!!
What a cr---y thing to do walmart does not want long term associates
20 years with this devil company,,suddenly last oct/1/2020. They eliminate massively must managers positions ( long term workers). And oct/1/2021 is time to cut to all this fellow Americans the money…while they are laying in the news saying walmart is hiring for 20 dollars…my self after 20 years don’t make that money…shame on you Sam Walton and descendants….
Department managers for the last 10 years have been a social posting. They get the job then pass their responsibilities to salesfloor individuals meanwhile onhand adjustments ect are faked then subsequently rejected automatically resulting in even more freight and top stock. In combination steels start getting overflow by not following the current system resulting a bail out of other sales people to clean up mess created by said dp who usually is sipping coffee complaining that others need to do more during peak hours.
It is true that a dm to tl is an increase, a tl is higher than at, and while i am unsure about the difference in paygrade from dm to at, the overall effect is a reduction in payroll overall. The number of tl replacing dm is less as tl is the new support manager. The remainder of dm are demoted and their payrate frozen for 1yr, at which time their payrate will also drop from dm to floor assoc.
In my family, that is a $16.80/hr to $15/hr; $3456/yr.
Just pulled a loved one out of being trafficked, using Walmart’s money. Both myself and many I know will never shop at Walmart again. Better quality can be had if we think through purchases. What a joke of a business model!

Cut jobs. Reduce hours. Expect twice as much work be done. All for increasing profit margins and a quarter point on their stocks. Enjoy!!!
Oh boy! 10% pay cut! I hope Walmart realizes they're just gonna do 10% less work! Hmmmm 10% times 0 work done... hmmmm
A DM going to Academy Trainers will decrease by 10%. I looked at the job level today on the career preferences. TL is $18 per hour. 2 weeks ago, AT description said it was an increase. This is based on Los Angeles and Ventura county in CA.
If you really look hard you will find that Walmart is making team leads and academy trained associates to cut the number of full time higher payed hourly position in there stores this done to prepare for $15.00 min wage
Not exactly correct. Team lead is the new department managers and it's a raise. AT is a 10% raise and is the same as a current a/b associate
Yeah, those hard working DM's. I mean hey they should pay people 40-50k a year to fold towels. That's a great business model.
You're leaving out the part about the HIGHER paying positions opening up. The Academy Trainers are at A/B which is the yearly 2% raise no matter how you perform and less Myshare bonus so this post is partially correct.
Not true at ALL lol it's a 10% raise I've had them in my site for 6 months
It sad what Walmart is doing cut the hard working people. Thats what they will do to try to keep cost down, investors happy, and the top people making their loads overwork the bottom people, cut their pay, benefits just disgusting...
